Meet Jaimie

I grew up in Ventura, CA and feel especially at home near the ocean. My dad actually lived on a sailboat for ten years when I was a kid and we often fished and snorkeled along the Channel Islands--amazing! My husband I met at UC Davis and married in 2005. We moved to the Bay Area in 2009 and I love it! We have three kids who had three VERY difference birth stories.

Here are a few of my favorite things....

Family Trips


Some of my most fond memories are getting outside with our kids. We homeschooled for 9 years, and were constantly hiking and backpacking. During Covid, we traveled the US while we had virtual jobs--we spent a year traveling the US from California to Maine.


I didn't have a fancy camera back then, but part of my joy in these moments was photographing them and telling stories with my little iphone.

Celebrations


I can find a way to celebrate almost anything. I love throwing a birthday party, having a "special breakfast" for every holiday, parties on the first and last day of school etc. Of course, we go all out on Halloween too! Now the kids do their own thing mostly, because... teenagers. But more seriously too, I enjoy the sacred traditions and beauty of Advent and Christmas; the longing of Lent and joy of Easter.

Marriage & Misc.


I love my husband Paul. I've been caught many times being the only person to laugh at his jokes. There's a lid for every pot and I really do love being married to Paul.


I cry sometimes when I hear beautiful classical music or see a painting in a museum.


I hate cilantro. Sorry. It makes me sad, but I hate it.
